BATS magazine

our new best friends (too soon guys?) from http://thrashingteens.tv/ have just chucked up a review of our launch party/issue four

BAT FACT: Most bats only give birth to 1 pup per year, making them very vulnerable to extinction.

This useless fact certainly doesn't apply to the girls behind BATS Magazine, who just popped out their 4th epic love-child in 8 months. And the girls don't just stop at putting utterly hilarious words to paper, neigh! To coincide with the release of the new issue, they decided to throw an all ages launch party, which we at Thrashingteens dubbed 'indie kindy'. Now we aren't overly old (just scrapping in on the 'teens' nomenclature) but we felt like fucking dinosaurs. We may as well have rocked up with portable I.V drips and zimmer frames... But the kids were fucking ruling. Dude when I was 16 I was shit. I can't remeber what I did back then but it sure as fuck didn't contain running a magazine and throwing sweet-ass parties.

come along to the Rockschool Challenge Final at Southbank Institute of Technology next wednesday the 3rd of June to support finalists Dirtybird

however, Dirtybird are awesome (think an angrier, younger Violent Soho)

and I haven't listened to the other bands.. so....

winners are somewhat based on the crowd's reaction, so come along and fucking start a circle pit or some shit during Dirtybird's performance

Aussame Teens are the Australian verison of Same Teens in Manchester
and they have just realised the first issue of their e-zine XOZ... and it's awesome

the e-mag is based in melbourne, however we did nottice that issue one included a lot of familiar talented brisbane/gold coast artists: Alisa, Ebony (and her Paper People Project), Bejamin Cotgrove, a fashion shoot by Sophie Richards, Avaberee, Last Dinosaurs and The Cairos and even us!

other night caught some amazing bands at the Old Museum
ALL of the bands were fantastic... not for one moment was I disappointed, disgusted or outraged... except for when they projected some "art" films on the ceiling in between the sets
seriously that was some disturbing shit (a woman sitting in a box full of cereal.. another shaving her face)

highlights include Mr. Maps (of course), Idle Cranes and Villains of Wilhelm (for pissing the stage crew off)
