Beer, babes and a Barbeque. I honestly can not think of a better way to start my weekend.... or how about a "kicking" ALL AGES event with some of Brisbane's best acts in an open air concert on the river.

OPEN AIR is a concert put on by Queelsand College of Art students, with the entry fee going towards supporting nearly 200 final year designers for their exhibition and graduate catalogue.
With two girls of the BATS team personally attending QCA themselves, this cause hits close to home - everyone knows how poor uni students are.

The lineup consists of: Mt. Augustus, Carry Nation, BigStrongBrute, The Videomatics The Liars Chair, Your Hand In Mine and WolfGang DJs

tickets are dirt cheap, starting with a $5 presale online here
or at Rocking Horse, Butter Beats, and Kill THE Music

otherwise it's $10 on the gate

RSVP to the facebook event here

NO WAVES, not to be confused with a popular culture scene or a low tidal volume ventilation, is an art exhibition which will showcase several emerging artists from the gold coast this Friday night

exhibiting artists including:
Siobhan Frost
Matty Kidd
Jake Springthorpe
Boozy Bones
Alex Wall
Megan Chambers
Ali Mitton

held in a warehouse, the exhibition will be accompanied by music from
Comic Sans, A Deadbeat Band and Mary Jane

so skate on over to 99 Lower West Burleigh Road at 6.30pm (fuck being fashionably late)
and get ready for the coolest thing to hit the coast besides the odd tornado and/or shit storm

it will cost you 10 bones
but it is BYO
and girls and boys only! according to the facebook event
- however we asked if hermaphrodites would be turned down on entry and rest assured they won't be
"they are people too"

here is a really cool promo vid that I was only able to watch 14 seconds of as I am actually capped on my internet, but please watch it and inform me of its ending
